Foraging

Foraging throughout the year has been one of my favourite things this year. It’s given me the time to slow down and be grateful. It’s helped me to feel resourceful and expanded my knowledge.

I’ve been committed to foraging something each month and it’s worked. In March I started with nettles and cleavers. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so many nettles in my life. In Spring I ate dandelions. In June I felt a little sad that I could no longer make elderflower champagne, but I picked loads of elderflower anyway. I ended up making soap from scratch and drying the elderflower for tea.
